Today’s most powerful fascist has “the best words,” or so he says. In 1947 Portugal, fascism was pretty popular too (see here). And, therefore, art was dangerous.
Seventy years after the “2nd General Exhibition of Plastic Arts” (EGAP), Casa da Achada presents some of the pictures apprehended by PIDE (International Police and State Defense) for being considered “antinational” and “subversive”. EGAP played a key role in the struggle against fascism here, and now you can help continue fighting the good fight while quenching your thirst for history and art. Subversive style.
