The hotel lives up to its name, but the view could be better

A grander entrance would be hard to find in Lisbon, and it’s no surprise considering its proximity to Avenida de Liberdade. To get to the bar, you pass through the entrance hall, a corridor lined with high-end shops, and head into a little elevator that takes you up to the 13th floor. Arriving on the terrace, you are greeted by a less-than-spectacular view. The vista is mainly comprised of the building opposite, so unless you are looking to enjoy a cocktail while perusing the windows of another hotel, don’t look. You can see some of the city if you crane your head to the left. The DJ stands by the entrance, pumping out some surprisingly decent tunes, and on the wall next to them is an obnoxiously large screen. The space isn’t too large, but there are enough outdoor heaters to keep it warm on those colder nights. The prices are a little above average, with an imperial running you 4€. One point to note is that the bartenders are some of the friendliest around.
