Another One Bites the Dust: Super Bock Super Rock Moved to 2022

The last giant standing, Portugal’s beloved SBSR (Super Bock Super Rock) music festival has decided to call it quits along with the rest of them.

“We have done everything in our power to make it possible for all of us to meet again in Meco to celebrate three days of great music, but, unfortunately, it still won’t be this year,” the organizers said Monday. “This is an extraordinarily hard decision for us to make. We have worked, over the past few months, together with the Government, Health Authorities, and industry representatives, on measures that can allow Festivals to return safely. However, restrictions on international circulation are forcing many artists to postpone their tours to 2022, which makes it impossible for Super Bock Super Rock to go ahead this year.”

SBSR’s 2022 dates are July 14-16. Tickets from 2020 and 2021 are valid for the 2022 dates, and you can get a refund as well within 14 days after the originally scheduled ticket. But SBSR does add this:

“Those of you who decide to keep your ticket and enjoy the festival in 2022, are making a valuable contribution to this sector, which was one of the most affected by the pandemic.”
