A local favorite for a casual typical Portuguese lunch
No, this cafe isn’t round nor is it spinning, but you can rest assured what they serve you will tickle your fancy, both in flavor and price. Sit down for a proper bitoque (steak and egg), a plate of grilled chocos (cuttlefish), or even a simple tosta mista, and you won’t be disappointed. The food is made fresh and the quantity and quality are evenly balanced. While the restaurant is very large indoors, don’t think grabbing a table outside is all that easy: the word is out and it’s likely you’ll have to battle a resident of the neighborhood for a spot. Head downstairs to the cozy barstool area with a book or a computer for some peace and quiet or saddle up to the counter next to the entrance for a snack and a chat on the go.
