One of the oldest bars in Cais do Sodre but one that never stops rebranding itself

Change isn’t always good. Owners of the 40-year-old classic Copenhagen Bar started trying to transition from the old Cais do Sodre of sailors and the ladies of the night who love them to the new Pink Street Cais do Sodre, and it doesn’t always work out (their remodeling job of the interior made it look like a spaceship, and not a sexy one — then they got illustrators to do portraits, which is far better). But, Copenhagen’s getting much better about the music, hired some bartenders less than 60 years old, and the crowd is almost always lively, friendly, and eager to be on the dance floor, although these days it’s mostly tourists. You can still spot the regulars, however, who once made this place Atlas’ favorite Scandinavian-named bar in the world.
