Jun 19 @ 18:00 – 22:00
Weekly | WORKSHOP | DIY-day at Disgraça | Graça | FREE @ Disgraça | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal

DIY has become a vague term in recent years. After all, we’re all in it together, right? Moreover, big business is all about buzzwords…
Nevertheless, with minimum wage persistently low and rent increasingly high, the times are riper than ever for some good old-fashioned do-it-yourself fun.
Disgraça, one of Lisbon’s best little-known venues for, among other things, light vegan dinners and heavy punk rock shows, is a pretty good definition of DIY (read their story here). That’s why every Wednesday they are hosting “DIY-day.” We’ll let them do the rest:
“We bring two really good things together – creating stuff AND hanging out with nice people.
Drop in any Wednesday from 18h!
Bring your own material!
NO DINNER but the bar is open and we will also provide some snacks.
To begin with, we will just learn from each other and so on, but in the future, there may be some workshops… bring your ideas!”

FREE ENTRY.

Hello.
Are you a food blogger?
A photographer?
More importantly, do you like free food?

If you answered yes to one (if you have a good poker face) or more of the above questions, then Sajjad from the 1001 Nights Iranian Restaurant has a message for you:
“Dear Food Blogger / Photographer.
How are you?
In order to introduce Persian (Iranian) cuisine in Lisbon and create online content, we invite you for a free food tasting. You can bring one friend. Please call us (+351 927 626 665), or send a message or book on our website (mentioning food blogger or photographer in your message) to confirm your presence.
What will we do? We are going to serve you our starter, food, and dessert.
What do we expect? It will be your kindness if you create online content in the shape of a blog post, or a review, or photos. We appreciate if your presence could be in not busy times of restaurant (Monday to Thursday for dinner, for example) as we will have more time to have a better service to you.
Please, when you arrive at the restaurant, let us know that you have come based on our invitation about ‘food blogger-photographer.’
Or show this event page to the waiter.
Kind Regards,
Sajjad.”

to Oct 21 | MEDITATION | Sunset Rooftop Donation Yoga | Graça | 5€-TBD @ Rua Damasceno Monteiro 21A, 1170-109 Lisboa, Portugal | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal

As far as titles of events go, we find that this one, despite having only four words, is pretty self-explanatory.
Some yoga.
Donation-based.
On a rooftop.
During sunset.
Is that a haiku…

Anyway.
Rachael, a Yoga Alliance RT200-trained local, is your guide, and she explains a little more:
“Hatha yoga practice with a panoramic view as the sun sets, final meditation under the stars. Friendly, relaxed class, taught in English, suitable for all levels.
Payment is by donation, suggested minimum donation 5 Euros.
No advance booking, just show up.
NOTE: THE CLASS TIME CHANGES AS THE SUNSET TIME CHANGES!
Come to the address 40 – 15 minutes before start time, press buzzer for floor 3. Please don’t arrive later than that; I go up to the roof just before the class starts, so after that I can’t let you in.
Bring your own mat, or if you don’t have a mat, a blanket or large towel, and warm clothes for the end. I have some blankets available. You can do the class in bare feet, or if you don’t have a mat you might prefer to do it in soft shoes. You might want socks at the end.
Sorry but I probably won’t see any messages you send me just before the class starts or once it’s started.
Bathroom and changing space available.”

A phoneless, semi sockless rooftop sunset on a Monday night?
Not bad.
Namaste.
Or something.

Jun 25 @ 13:30 – 14:30
to Jun 25 | WORKSHOP | Violin for Adults | Alcântara | 40€ @ Museu Do Oriente | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal

“It takes generosity to discover the whole through others. If you realize you are only a violin, you can open yourself up to the world by playing your role in the concert.”
Jacques Yves Cousteau.

Wanna realize that you, too, are a violin?
Here’s what the orchestrators of this one tell us:
“Do you like music? Was playing the violin one of those dreams that you could never do? Do you think you’re too old to get involved in these things? Would you like to learn how to read music but do not want to compromise on the purchase of an instrument? So these classes really are for you!
In weekly one-hour sessions, you will have the opportunity to take the first steps in the implementation of this instrument that is thought to have been “born” in China. Each participant will be provided with a violin.”

Your teacher will be international virtuoso Rita Mendes.

LEVEL IV.
Tuesdays, 13:30 to 14.30.
Price: 40€ per month.

to Oct 21 | MEDITATION | Sunset Rooftop Donation Yoga | Graça | 5€-TBD @ Rua Damasceno Monteiro 21A, 1170-109 Lisboa, Portugal | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal

Not bad.

Weekly | WORKSHOP | DIY-day at Disgraça | Graça | FREE

FREE ENTRY.

FREE ENTRY.
