Aug 23 @ 10:00 – 17:00
to Dec 31 | EXHIBIT | "Among Dinosaurs" | Príncipe Real | 5€ @ Museu de Historia Natural e da Ciência | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal

As you probably already know, dinosaurs once roamed the Earth— but did you know that they roamed around Portugal? The Museum of Natural History is taking an intensive look at different types of dinosaur fossils and inviting you to get to know the regions of Portugal where they are most abundant. Learn about excavation work, laboratory preparation, and identification of the Allosaurus fossils found in Andrés (Pombal) and maybe you’ll get a better idea about just what was going on at this time 150 million years ago, and what dinosaurs have survived until today.

Note: Weekend hours are from 11h to 18h

From the organizers:

Allosaurus: in what regions of the planet were they discovered? What characteristics did these Dinosaurs have? The answer to this question leads to the reflection about the diets of the dinosaurs, their life habits, and the adaptations necessary for their survival. Since Allosaurus is a theropod, we can not forget that some dinosaurs of this group evolved acquiring avian characteristics. We are therefore led to the conclusion that not all of the dinosaurs were extinct 66 million years ago.

From the organizers:
They live in our homes and streets, in our imagination and even in the music we listen to. And have been with us for thousands of years. But what do we actually know about them? How did they become so different from wild animals? How do they see, listen and feel the world?

The new temporary exhibition of Pavilion of Knowledge invites children and grown-ups to explore the world of their favorite pets. The exhibition is composed by three thematic areas: (“In their skin”; “In their head”; “In our societies”) adding a total of 47 interactive exhibits.

Produced by Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie – from Paris – will be open to the public until September 8, 2019. On the first Sunday of every month, the public is welcome to visit our science center with a dog and also to participate in our workshop programme Canine Passport. The 13th edition of Somersby Out Jazz is back in Lisbon, which means you have the option of spending any given Sunday afternoon trough the end of September enjoying jazz, soul, funk, hip-hop, rock, DJs, drinks, dancing, friends, and fresh air in some of the most beautiful gardens of the capital.

“Lisbon is trendy and still has a lot to offer. There are many green spaces scattered throughout the city with great potential, which have the capacity to receive an event of this size and that only benefit in being more dynamic. The aim of the Somersby Out Jazz is precisely to provide a diversified musical experience for Portuguese and foreigners while promoting the gardens in which it is held and encouraging their (re-)visitation.”

But we’re not stopping there: Feline Instinct workshop happens every second Sunday of the month and is dedicated to cats.

Sep 1 @ 10:00 – 17:00
to Dec 31 | EXHIBIT | "Among Dinosaurs" | Príncipe Real | 5€ @ Museu de Historia Natural e da Ciência | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal
