Lisbon Events Calendar

Logistics for planning things to do for an excellent day (or week, or month) in and around Lisbon, in English. ATTENTION: Most of the top museums in Lisbon have closed due to the attempt to contain the Coronavirus. There will likely be last-minute cancellations on events until mid-May and possibly beyond, so for now, it’s best to call and check if the event you fancy is still going on just in case.

Jul 7 @ 15:00 – 15:30
to July 31st | GUIDED MUSEUM VISITS | Terapêuticas Bordalianas | Campo Grande | FREE @ Museu Bordalo Pinheiro | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal

Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro is a household name in Portugal. He was a man of many talents and, even though he died 115 years ago, his work and influence on the country remain ever-present. One example of said influence is Zé Povinho, the vaguely familiar fat little dude on the left.

This summer, the museum bearing Bordalo’s name wants to help you fight those pandemic blues, free of charge, with what they’re calling Terapêuticas Bordalianas.

Here’s what they say:
“The Therapeutic Bordalianas are free half-hour-long visits to the Museum Bordalo Pinheiro designed to introduce visitors to the Bordaliano world.
We choose one piece or theme per day, between Tuesday and Friday, always at 15h, and then we invite the visitor to explore the Museum freely.

Themes and pieces:
Tuesdays – Arab perfumer and the tile
Wednesdays – Manueline carving and popular culture
Thursdays – Mesa-Posta plate and naturalism
Fridays – Zé Povinho: identity and politics

But attention!
It can manifest the following side effects: irony, sense of humor, sarcasm, freedom of thought, social and political criticism.
If symptoms persist, contact us, we have more activities for you!”

FREE with prior registration.

Registration (and more info) via [email protected].

*Limited to five people per tour.

Jul 29 @ 15:00 – 15:30
to July 31st | GUIDED MUSEUM VISITS | Terapêuticas Bordalianas | Campo Grande | FREE @ Museu Bordalo Pinheiro | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal
