Looking to add some flavorful moments to your Sunday afternoon?
DJ Lady G Brown was born in Angola and now lives in Lisbon. She started DJ-ing here 15 years ago, in a bar called “Bob Rasta.”
Today, her sets can be heard all over town, live or other.
Here’s what she says:
“All my inspiration comes from the message and groove that music conveys, the feelings and emotions that flow with the notes and rhythms that make people dance and smile, whether they are in a bar or by the beach at the end of the day, watching the sun and the sea embracing the sand.
Fela Kuti, Manu Dibango, OneLess Of Juju, Black Coffee, Erykah Badu, Bob Marley, and so on. My DJ sets can travel around afro sounds from the ’60s to the new afro music produced today.
I believe we all need more love and well-being; music is like cooking, the difference is made through the ingredients; the ingredients give flavor to the moments.”
The Lady comes to the garden at the Gulbenkian to cook up some nice tunes and tickle your senses July 21st.
Here’s a taste of the flavor.
