DINNER AND 2-DAY PARTY | Arroz Estúdios' 1st Birthday | Cacilhas | FREE-22€ @ Arroz Estúdios | Lisboa | Setúbal | Portugal

Atlas has it on good authority that creative space across the river Arroz Estúdios, despite being only a one-year-old space, knows what they’re doing. The word is still out on whether anything half-naked will jump out of a cake, but we’ll let you know once we hear something.

So, without further ado, we’ll let them do the talking:
“We are one. To celebrate we’re hosting a 30h birthday party.
Come and join the fun.”

Yep.
That about sums it up.

The madness kicks off with a trippy, rabbit-friendly dinner, and the rest is bound to be of historic proportions…

INTERNATIONAL FEST | Festival Todos 2019 | Graça | FREE
Sep 22 @ 11:00 – 20:00
INTERNATIONAL FEST | Festival Todos 2019 | Graça | FREE @ São Vicente | Lisbon | Lisbon | Portugal

Festival Todos is a decade-old yearly party that, by its very definition, has something for everyone. The organizers of the 2019 version — TODOS -“Caminhada de Culturas” (“Cultures Walk”) — say it “is a multi-art festival that affirms Lisbon, since 2009, as a city of intercultural dialogue, cohabitation of different religions, people, and generations, through the promotion of art and sharing…
TODOS 11th edition will be held in various historically relevant spots in the area of São Vicente.

Promoted between Academia de Produtores Culturais and the Lisbon City Council, TODOS works directly with local communities and has contributed to eliminating territorial ghettos associated with immigration.”

A four-day weekend of food, art, dance, music, tours, workshops, from every corner of the world, for a good cause, and mostly* free of charge.

*FREE ENTRY to all shows
except
Capicua & Mulheres da Lusofonia concert-TBD;
World Food (naturally paid directly to the cooks);
Workshops (participation fees to be announced soon).

Sep 22 @ 15:00 – Sep 23 @ 02:00
to Sept 22 | ART AND MUSIC FEST | Festival Iminente 2019 | Monsanto | 15€ @ Panorâmico de Monsanto | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal

What’s a good way to end your summer?
How about with an art and music festival inside some cool post-apocalyptic-yet-intact semi-ruins inside a forest in Lisbon?
Restaurant Panorámico (aka Panorâmico de Monsanto), the abandoned, off-the-beaten-path architectural marvel overlooking the city, welcomes back Festival Iminente 2019 this weekend for four days of well-rounded fun.

From the organizers:
“That’s right, it’s Festival Iminente once again. It might not even be such a good idea to gather in the same place activists of an emerging and urban culture. But that’s the way we are, we like to do what we believe in. New music and new art. Restless and explosive lusophone culture. Manifestos for freedom of expression and human rights. Diversity. At the Panorâmico de Monsanto, where the future has always been made.
After making its way around the world – London, Shanghai, and Rio de Janeiro – Iminente is now returning to Lisbon for four days of collective cultural intimacy, reflecting on the concepts of Identity and Diversity. And there’s nothing like returning home…”

Over 100 artists, from 11 nationalities, on five stages, plus 5000 lucky kids a day, for four days of visual and performance arts, sculpture, painting, photography, graffiti, hip-hop, trap, b-boys, b-girls, as well as fado, world music, world dancers, talks, workshops, etc..
And a few surprises are likely imminent too.

Learn the deets, including the full line-up, here.

Check out highlights from last year here.

TICKETS*: 15€ per day, on sale here.
*There are only 5000 day tickets – no festival passes – and, like previous years, there are no ticket booths or ticket sales at the gates.

Happy Discovery!

PARTY | Rožava & Empty Hall of Fame & Farsa at Disgraça | Graça | DONATION @ Disgraça | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal

Here’s how the graceful space in Graça that is Disgraça describes itself:
“A space where racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, etc. behaviors are not tolerated. Thus, it reserves the right to prevent entry to police, judges, ministers, presidents, nazis, neo-Nazis, protonazis, nationalists, or any other vertical animal suffering from any kind of authoritarian or supremacist idiocy.”

This year, Disgraça turns four years old, and they’re celebrating.

They add:
“And so we close the birthday festivities with a day of concerts and other activities in what is the most infamous cave in this city, with countless subversive activities coming soon!”

World renowned experimental musician Yann Tiersen makes a lot of people cry.
But, in a good way.
Yann has a new album. It’s called ALL. It’s quite experimental, and the first to be recorded in his new studio/ community center The Eskal (formerly an abandoned discotheque) on the small island of Ushant, his hometown.
Yann comes to Portugal this September to share ALL with you.
And maybe make you cry.

Tickets are already selling out; get yours here.

In the meantime, here’s something beautiful.

ROCK CONCERT | Nick Murphy fka Chet Faker | Baixa | 28€-33€
Oct 1 @ 21:00 – 23:45
ROCK CONCERT | Nick Murphy fka Chet Faker | Baixa | 28€-33€ @ Coliseu Lisboa | Lisboa | Lisboa | Portugal

Nick Murphy, perhaps, for now, better known by his previous moniker, Chet Faker, is gracing Lisbon’s Coliseu with his presence Oct. 1, to play tunes from his newest album, Run Fast Sleep Naked, which as an instruction is very sound advice, in our opinion. NOTE: He’s scheduled to play in Porto Oct. 2, tickets for both will be here. You can get individual tickets for 28€, or get the five- or six-seat boxes, for up to 33€ per ticket.

Here’s how Nick has been feeling:

And just a reminder about how he used to feel when he was Chet Faker:

CONCERT | The Psychedelic Furs in Lisbon | Marvila | 28€ @ LISBOA AO VIVO | Lisboa | Portugal

The Psychedelic Furs. They were formed in 1977. That’s original Star Wars old… However, even if you’re not a fan, you’ve likely heard the name. At the very least, you’ve heard (and likely like) at least one song.
And if you are a fan, you’re especially in luck, because the Furs hit Lisbon this October.
And tickets are likely to go quickly.

28€ tickets here.

Here’s the one song you definitely know.
