Remember a time when, in the long long ago, before the pandemic, the major issue being discussed by the first world was that of plastic and pollution? Well, while most of us in the first world now turn a blind eye to the source of and dilemma caused by the megatons upon megatons of masks and plastic containers we need to stay alive these days, some of us have stayed true to that more-relevant-than-ever cause. Case in point, from the organizers:
“In the summer of 2020, @TheTrashTraveler hiked the 832 km along the Portuguese coastline to raise awareness about plastic pollution together with plenty of NGOs. 1,6 tons of plastic were collected.
The Documentary: This adventure resulted in an awareness documentary reflecting the thoughts and work of NGOs, environmentalists, and artists along the coast of Portugal.
The Exhibition: 27 artists created art from trash. These will be set up very soon.. where? Stay tuned.
The documentary movie by @Camerawithnoname will be shown for the first time in Lisbon and afterwards in several events in Portugal and around the world. Many times it will be supported by clean-up actions, ukulele songs, and workshops such as stop motion videos and board games.
Our message: Let’s learn from each other and engage in the best actions to protect the ocean.”
