Bi-weekly | MARKET | Antiques and Crafts | Belém | FREE
Garden Vasco da Gama
R. Vieira Portuense, 1300 Lisboa

This Belem market takes place on the first and third Sunday every month, and is a better-organized and smaller version of the chaotic Feira da Ladra. It’s definitely more middle class, is what we’re saying. There’s an abundance of antiques, used books, watches, and cameras, ceramics old and new, and even furniture, and smart hagglers will find that there are bargains to be had. The market is also particularly good for more creative souvenir shopping these days and, at last count, there were at least two very skilled shoemakers willing to part with their quality-leather creations for not very many euros at all. And on the first Sunday of every month, you can also visit the nearby CCB Market, which is, how shall we put it… more upper-middle-class?
