ART EXHIBIT AND OPEN STUDIO | Ai, Miga! by Clara Não | Príncipe Real | FREE

December 5, 2019 @ 18:00 - 21:00

Free

Artist and illustrator Clara Não is a ’90s kid raised, in her words, “on love and Britney.” She lives and works in Porto. She has a degree in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto, and she’s also worked at the Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam, where she focused her studies on Illustration and Creative Writing.

In June of this year, Clara released her first book, entitled Miga, forget it! – how to turn problems into laughter and self-love.

This weekend, local gallery Art Room invites you to Clara’s open studio entitled “Ai, Miga!”

Here’s how they describe it:
“This show concentrates on the human body. The interaction we have with ours and with others. In a society where the digital is increasingly present, it is necessary to reflect on the corporeal: from the investigation of our, and only our own body – our territory – to the presence of the body in love (without being corny), to the exploration of textures and new forms of organization. In this way, the Porto illustrator presents to the public unpublished pieces, with her well-known humor and assertiveness, in search of equality and love (of herself and everyone else).

In addition to spontaneous outbursts, deconstruction of taboos, and embroidery with feeling (again, without being corny), there will be originals from Clara’s book Miga, Forget It!

Since it is an open studio format, Clara will be present for all three days to talk about her work and sign books.”

Spontaneous outbursts, deconstruction of taboos, and embroidery with feeling?
Porque não?

*Opening inauguration:
December 5th, 18h-21h.

Exhibition up through December 7th, 14h-19h.
