Jhon Douglas (no, we didn’t misspell that) is a multimedia artist originally from Brazil. He has exhibited work there, as well as in Mexico and Paraguay. Like his name, his style is quite memorable.
For the last two years, Jhon has been living and working here in Lisbon, and this Saturday the Malapata Gallery (self-described as “an art gallery that, despite its name, doesn’t harbour omens of bad luck”) is lucky enough to house Jhon’s new show, Artista não faz curva (“Artist does not curve”).
From the organizers:
“Works in watercolors and acrylics, original and of various sizes, small sculptures and prints, will be gathered on that day of the event. The artist will be around all day, making drawings live and telling some of his experiences to whomever is present.”
