ART EXHIBT | Margot Kick: Matter, through the wall | São Bento | FREE
Many of us have been feeling like going through the wall these last few months, for obvious reasons. One way to avoid property damage, now that restrictions are being lifted, is to go see some art.
Artist Margot Kick was born in Munich in 1985. She’s probably been feeling the same as many of us recently. She has a Fine Arts degree in Photography and a Master’s in Art History. She has exhibited her stuff in London, Glasgow, and even Bushwick, New York. She also recently did a residency here in Lisbon, at the Zaratan gallery. This weekend, Margot is doing an open studio and presenting the solo exhibition that said residency resulted in, titled “Matter, through the wall.”
Here’s what the organizers say about it:
“Central to the artist’s open studio at Zaratan is the series of paintings with abstract morphologies intertwining with lines of poetry. Organic forms evolve and connect to an outer side. The exhibition also includes a selection of works on paper, where the artist continues her ongoing exploration of the line with watercolors and graphite.
Oscillating between drawing, writing, and painting, the resulting body of work shows her interest in how the dichotomy of works establish multiple narratives.”
OPEN HOURS: 29-30-31 of May, 16h-20h.
*In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, to visit the exhibition the use of a sanitary mask is mandatory and admission is subject to maximum capacity, in compliance with hygiene and safety rules.
