ART, MUSIC, SPOKEN WORD | Garden Collective VII: The Other Side | Cacilhas | FREE
October 6, 2018 @ 18:00 - 23:59Free
Garden Collective is a rag-tag team of Irish lads with strange beards who happen to be very dear friends of Atlas while maintaining impressively high levels of charm, talent and skill.
This is why we will let them do the talking:
“When we first heard about it, we were scared too.
So far away.
A body of water between it and you, with strange orange beasts ferrying all those people… the other-siders.
A tale of two places, so similar yet so different. People don’t venture across because they are scared. Scared of what? They don’t know.
Let us build a (metaphorical) bridge and reunite, through culture, art and general soundness, the two sides of the Tejo.
VAMOS PARA CACILHAS!
We apologize for the Braveheart-style speech, we are just particularly excited about this event.
Garden Collective is back for the third installment of the Lisboa series. This time, we will be taking you across the river Tejo to Cacilhas. Here, we have the pleasure of hosting our event in the newly opened Arroz Estúdios (check them out on Facebook for a sneak peek at the space).
To keep your ears happy we have a stellar line up of musicians, accompanied by local and international artists whose respective work(s) will be on display.
For your hungry bellies and parched lips, we have an onsite bar with assorted alcoholic beverages and energy-boosting sweet treats to get you boogying 😉
Keep an eye on this event page as we will be announcing acts very shortly.
We hope to see you all there for our biggest event to date.
As previously mentioned, this event will be in Cacilhas. The commute looks daunting but it’s really quite simple and actually great craic on the boat!
How to get there: From the ferry terminal in Cais do Sodre (next to the metro station) there is a regular service, and the journey is relatively short (7 minutes approx).
Once you get to Cacilhas and disembark, walk up the platform and turn right along the riverfront. Arroz Estúdios is a 1-minute walk and on your left (on your right is the Tejo).
The last boat back to Lisbon leaves Cacilhas at 01:20am. To allow people adequate time to return, we will be finishing the event at 00:45am.”
