This Belem market (Feira de Antiguidades e Velharias de Belem) takes place on the first and third Sunday every month, and is a better-organized and smaller version of the chaotic Feira da Ladra. It’s definitely more middle class. There’s an abundance of antiques, used books, watches, and cameras, ceramics old and new, and even furniture, and smart hagglers will find that there are bargains to be had. The market is also particularly good for more creative souvenir shopping these days.
If you happen to catch this market on the first Sunday of the month, you can also visit the nearby CCB Market, which is, how shall we put it… more upper-middle-class but, like, creative, you know?
