Here’s what Lisbon’s Solistas da Metropolitana say about this Saturday night:
“Mozart wrote a lot of chamber music throughout his life. Some of these pieces are played by a string trio and a ‘guest,’ to form a Quartet. In this program, the flute and the oboe are joined alternately by the violin, the viola d’arco, and the cello. We can thus get to know up close two wind instruments that underwent so many technical improvements in the 18th century. Let’s (re)discover the differences.”
THE PROGRAM:
W. A. Mozart Quartet in F Major, KV 370
W. A. Mozart Quartet in C Major, KV 171
W. A. Mozart Adagio in G Major, KV 580a
W. A. Mozart Quartet in D Major, KV 285
THE SOLOISTS:
Janete Santos on flute;
Sally Dean on oboe;
Joana Dias on violin;
Irma Skenderi viola;
Ana Cláudia Serrão on cello.
