Soundtracks have been known to make even the worst of movies tolerable. And the other way around too. It’s a very special and fine form of art — fitting moving images and the story they tell to music. And it can make a film either laughable, instantly classic, or both.
This Saturday, Gulbenkian Música presents Music From Cinema, where the Gulbenkian Choir and Orchestra will fill Lisbon’s Valley of Silence Park with sounds from such memorable films as “Amadeus,” “West Side Story,” “2001: A Space Odyssey,” and “Apocalypse Now.”
And you’re invited to add to the soundtrack of your life, in the open air, free of charge.
Here’s a trailer.
