From the organizers:
The second MasterFest concert of the festival will be filled in full by Russian music. This is your opportunity to hear masterpieces from three of the greatest Russian composers, interpreted by nine internationally-acclaimed musicians. To open the concert, the Russian Eldar Nebolsin, one of the greatest pianists of today, will play a selection of the beautiful Preludes Op. 23 by Serguei Rachmaninov. It will follow the genius and inventive Op. 39 Quintet composed by Sergei Prokofiev for oboe, clarinet, violin, viola and double bass. This Russian Feast will end in crescendo, with the extraordinary 2nd Trio of Dmitri Shostakovich, one of the most powerful works of the century.
