Rama em Flor describes itself as “a festival that is committed to celebrating feminism and queer culture, through a transdisciplinary, heterogeneous, and inclusive program.”
After two successful editions (in 2016 and 2018), Rama em Flor returns to Lisbon in 2021, saying this:
“In times of crisis, it is necessary to unite voices, share, and continue. We cannot suspend an activity of valorization and empowerment of a minority community in society. Providing places for debate, claiming the body in the city, regaining communal contact, and giving visibility to underrepresented communities continue to be the central objectives of Rama em Flor.”
And so, this Friday night, the festival welcomes three local heavy-hitting musicians of the female variety for a night of “ghost funk, love songs without unnecessary bones or fat, cello and singing that transport us to an apocalyptic scenario, treasures, obscurities, nasties,” and all sorts of transdisciplinary fun. Said three ladies are April Marmara, Joana Guerra, and DJ Candy Diaz (aka Ana Farinha), and you can learn more about them here.
