Portuguese clinical psychologist and president of the Association for the Prevention and Support of Mental Health, Carlos Céu e Silva, the last of a three-session course entitled “Literature and the Unconscious.” The first session compared Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The second compared Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Ernest Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms.
The last class, “Learn to Survive,” is on Tuesday. Inspired by Ovid’s The Art of Loving and Sun Tzu’s The Art of War, this course questions the need for man to use manuals to learn to live and what leads us to believe in the teachings of others.
