DEBATE AND MULTIMEDIA PARTY | Woman Can: Celebration with M3dusa and guests | Lumiar | FREE

March 8, 2020 @ 15:00 - 23:00

In case you forgot, Medusa, according to back-in-the-pre-Jesus-day Greeks, was a winged female monster with living venomous snakes for hair who turned you to stone if you looked at her.
So, sort of a feminist…
She was believed to live somewhere in Libya until she got her head cut off by Perseus (ugh, men…).

In modern-day Lisbon, M3DUSA is a music collective that describes itself as a “DJ trio of girls that is here to hail to all queens of music.” “Let us all shake our feminist booties,” they add.

This International Women’s Day, M3DUSA and friends come to Central Gerador to party, show a film and some art, discuss gender, and help you shake your feminist booty.

Here’s how the organizers describe what’s in store:
“A conversation about the role of women in the music industry with Mariana Duarte Silva, co-founder of Village Underground Lisboa, artist AMAURA, beatmaker Trafulha, and Núria Pinto, former Digital Strategist at Antena 3 and journalist at Rimas and Batidas, which assumes the moderation of this conversation.

The program also has an exhibition by illustrator Mariana Simão, the short film “Intra Inter Subjective” by director Leonor Bettencourt Loureiro, who will be present to comment on the film and, finally, a DJ set by the trio M3DUSA that praises women through music.”

*Central Gerador reserves the right to collect and keep records of images, sounds, and voice during this event, to disseminate and preserve the memory of its cultural activity. If you have any questions, send us an email to geral@gerador.eu.
