FESTIVAL | Festa do Avante! | Seixal | 23€

Every year since 1976, on the first weekend of September, the town of Amora hosts Festa do Avante!, named after the official newspaper of the Portuguese Communist Party. The festivities themselves last three days and include music, with the participation of hundreds of Portuguese and international bands and artists on five different stages, as well as ethnography, gastronomy, debates, a book & music fair, theatre (Avanteatro), cinema (Cineavante), sporting events, and general communist fun! Several foreign communist parties also participate.
Bring the whole family but get there early as attendance is expected to be in the thousands.
