Thar-Ua is a Tibetan word that roughly translates as “overcome.”
It is also a documentary about four athletes that have had to overcome some serius obstacles to stay alive. Two of these athletes are reunited in Lisbon this Saturday, to share their story and present said documentary.
Here’s what YUPIK, the organizers, tell us:
“To all our customers and friends, we are pleased to invite you to be present this Thursday, November 29th, at 19h, for the screening of the documentary “Thar-Ua,” with the presence of two of its protagonists, considered two of the world’s greatest climbers: João Garcia and Ferran Latorre.
In “Thar-Ua,’ João Garcia, Ferran Latorre, Alex Txikon and Nuria Dicks dismember emotionally to discover their fears, joys, feelings, and thoughts.
João Garcia and Ferran Latorre will be available to share their experiences and answer questions about this great journey that results in a lesson of life and constant evolution, teaching by example how not to surrender in the face of the worst situations.
Hence, ‘Thar-Ua’.”
