Welket Bungué is not just a very cool name.
Born in Xitole (Guinea-Bissau) in 1988, Welket began his artistic training in 2005. He has a degree in theater from the Lisbon Theater and Film School. And a postgraduate degree in performance from UniRio.
He has been a permanent member of the Portuguese Academy of Cinema since 2015. He has written, directed, starred in, and won plenty of awards for many a film. Since 2016, he has worked regularly with the Mala Voadora theater company.
And he’s coming to Hangar to show you a movie* and talk about the art of filmmaking.

*The movie itself is a surprise and will be announced at the event, but you can ask Welket all about it after the screening.
