140 years ago, Vincent Van Gogh killed himself. Possibly because he was sick, relatively unknown, and dirt poor. Then everything changed for Vincent. Oh, the sweet irony of life and death in the world of art…
This month, semi-socialist cultural hub in the heart of Mouraria, Casa da Achada-Centro Mário Dionísio, has been running a film cycle based on the artist’s life. It coincides with the reissue of an essay and a conference by its founder, Mário Dionísio, about the man and the legend.
All sessions have a presentation and, whenever possible, conversation at the end of the projection.
Every Monday in October, at 21h30.
The films are subtitled in Portuguese.
