Jan Svankmajer was born in Prague in 1934. As a kid, he received a toy puppet theater for Christmas and became interested in animation. He then went on to become an artist and filmmaker. He is a self-described surrealist, and also kind of a foody.
On that note, here’s what Lisboa Social Press, hosts of this surreal evening, tell us:
“Polish wodka, Russian salad, and Central European sauerkraut: join us at Lisboa Social Press for a culinary and cinematic exploration of the senses hosted by artists Tom Maryniak and Jillian Roberts. Centered around the films of Jan Svankmajer, we will be presenting a selection of his short films along with an immersive intermediary feast.
Tickets for this macabre and wonder-filled evening are 10€.
This includes food, films and Vodka!”
