Ukraine.
If you’re not Ukranian, you’ve still heard of it.
Because, you know, World War III and stuff…
But politics is not the only thing that makes Ukraine interesting.
They also do film, short and other.
Open Night is an international festival of contemporary Ukrainian cinema. On the night of June 29th, parallel screenings of commercials, fiction, documentary, and animated films will take place in more than 100 locations in Ukraine and nine other countries.
Here in Lisbon, the festival is hosted by local non-profit organization Lado a Lado – Associação Sócio-Cultural Ucraniana (“Side by Side”) and held at A Padaria do Povo. (which means you can get some food too).
NOTE: You’ll probably need some Ukranian and/or Portuguese for this one.
WORD TO THE WISE: Don’t mention Russia.
