to Sept 14 | JAZZ FESTIVAL | “ON THE EDGE”: European Jazz Cycle 2018 | Belém | 99€-150€
Geographically speaking, Portugal is located on the edge of Europe. Googlemap it. So it’s only fitting that this year’s European Jazz Conference is coming to Portugal for the first time, with “ON THE EDGE” being this year’s theme. Also, 2018 happens to be the European Year of Cultural Heritage, and Portugal is definitely brimming with that.
Here’s what the organizers tell us:
“Three outstanding concerts aimed at showing the best jazz in Europe today.
On September 13th the Jazz Orchestra of Matosinhos will perform with the special participation of João Mortágua.
September 14th presents the Norwegian trio Espen Eriksen to join the famous British saxophonist Andy Sheppard. Finally, on September 15, the Norwegian pianist and composer Bugge Wesseltoft‘s “New Conception of Jazz” project arrives on the stage of the Great Auditorium.
Three concerts absolutely not to be missed in a unique event for jazz lovers.”
Sunday is reserved for exploring Belém with some historians, musicians, and other edgy enthusiasts.
Full registration fee is 99€ to 150€.
This includes access to the whole conference program, showcase festival, Opening Gala Concert, cultural tours on Sunday, and lunch/dinners during the days of the conference.
