Gaïda (or “gaita”) is a bagpipe with origins in the Balkans and Southeast Europe.
Gaida bags are generally made of sheep or goat hide, which means traditional gaïdas are not vegan-friendly.
Gaïda is also a gypsy dance from Bulgaria.
Finally, Gaïda is also a band based in Lisbon, which is influenced by all of the above but probably is vegan-friendly.
Gaïda the band is made up of Gulami Yesildal (sax and voice), Marian Yanchyk (violin), Joao Redondo Maia (percussion), and Jolly Longfellow (double bass).
Gaïda the band comes to RA 100 Arroios this Saturday night to spread some gypsy love.
