Saramago’s famous work Memorial do Convento, published in English as Baltasar and Blimunda, is the story of two lovers, the Inquisition, and the construction of the palace of Mafra — and this performance of the famous book takes place inside said palace. To get to Mafra from Lisbon, you can take the CP Comboios suburban train, from Rossio, Santa Apolonia or Entrecampos, depending on schedule.
