“The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons.”
Fyodor Dostoevsky.
Disgraça seems to agree with Fyodor, and they’re not very pleased with the current state of our civilization. For this reason, this local community organization is hosting a weekend of protest and fun, with “Tatto Circus.”
Here’s how they describe it:
“ARE YOU PREPARED TO BLEED?
ARE YOU PREPARED TO SWEAT?
ARE YOU PREPARED TO CRY?
On April 6th and 7th Tattoo Circus is finally back in town, flooding us with ink, escorted by waves of ROCK, caused by the vibrations of our screams! In solidarity with our imprisoned comrades, we are organizing a weekend full of concerts and activities debating the topic of prisons, putting into focus a matter we so easily push aside in our everyday life. The aim is to fundraise as many resources as possible to be able to support prisoners in their struggle, so we shout out to everyone wanting to participate as a tattoo artist, a performance act, or by organizing a talk — write us! Your help is much wanted, and any idea appreciated! As always, we also invite everyone to come and help us cook, clean, and prep! Save the date and spread the word!”
Come help fight the good fight, and maybe even get the ink to prove it.
