João Fazenda is a Portuguese illustrator who studied graphic design and has a Fine Arts degree, which makes him multi-talented.Today he works full-time as an artist, which is rare, dividing his time between Lisbon and London. His new solo show here in Lisbon, Que Grande Estrondo (“What a bang”), is described by its hosts as follows:
“In theaters made of paper, cardboard, acetate, color, and light, you can peek and discover that, after all, things are not exactly as they seem: we just have to move. They are, like the show, hybrid objects that are both three-dimensional and two-dimensional.”
It’s up until Dec. 22 at Teatro Luís de Camões.
