to Jan 16 | PORTUGUESE ARTIST SUBMISSIONS | EDP Foundations New Artist Award | FREE

January 6 - January 16

FREE

Are you a new Portuguese (yes, with a passport) artist who wouldn’t mind winning 20,000 euros? Well, then this one’s for you.
From the organizers:
“Until 16 January, applications are open for the 14th edition of the EDP Foundation’s New Artists Award. Created in 2000, this biannual award is aimed at artists whose solo career is still recent and not yet established, and includes all categories of plastic and visual arts.

The award is an EDP Foundation initiative which aims to contribute to the renewed creation and promotion of valuable assets of contemporary art. Therefore, applications from artists with Portuguese nationality, whether or not residing in Portuguese territory, and foreign national artists residing in Portugal, at the beginning of their career, are all eligible.

The group of finalists will take part in a collective exhibition to be held at the MAAT in 2022. During this exhibition, the Award Jury, made up of personalities of recognized merit in the fields of plastic and visual arts, will select the winning artist, who will subsequently receive a prize of 20 thousand euros.
