This is one of the biggest collections of Art Brut in the world, with almost 1,000 pieces. These pieces are characterized by the connection between aesthetics and religion, giving the paintings and sculptures a transcendental meaning that allows them to be viewed as cult objects, “creations born of the tormented geniuses of marginal artists around the world, authors without any connections to the art world, many of them confined to psychiatric hospitals.”
