Pão Rico is a dance performance created by the Portuguese choreographer Vera Mantero.

The piece is inspired by the evolution of Algarve as a touristic destination and how its coast is becoming disfigured over time.

Fishers have “sold” their territory to tourists and what was once a small town has grown into a foreigner magnet, featuring golf camps, waterparks, and plenty of hotels.
