Regardless of age, sexual identification, color, or creed, you are invited to join in for two days of “Doing it Together.” No, not like that. Let me explain.
On May 4 and 5, the Praça das Novas Nações in Anjos will be filled with art, animation and social life on the street, involving the neighborhood’s locals and the general public. “A Rua é Nossa” is a collaborative effort by Las Piteadas, AtelierSer, Zona Franca in Angels, PUF Colectivo, Paula Geleia, Luciana Gâmbaro, and Camila Piovesan. Throughout these two days, a mural will be painted in the park, accompanied by screen printing workshops, sewing wheel and embroidery activities, games and workshops for children, music, and lots more. Check out the agenda below as per the organizers:
SATURDAY, MAY 4 ~~~~~~~
10 am: “Intuitive Clay Workshop” for children of all ages, energized by Camila Piovesan; Come and get your hands on the mass and enter a sensory journey that will end in the creation of your piece to stay on display in the Square.
11h – 18h: Collective painting of the Mural, invigorated by Las Piteadas. Let’s paint together!
12:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Community lunch by Zona Franca: What better than sharing a meal? When the hunger tightens, the participants will have lunch in Zona Franca and share the experiences experienced in the morning.
2:30 pm: Uprising Weekend – Power to the Poster Workshop, powered by AtelierSer and Las Piteadas; Learn this millenarian printing art that has given voice to many self-organized struggles. Serigraphy!
17h00: Baque Mulher Lisboa will be in the house! The Maracatu percussive group is composed of women who sing, dance, and play for empowerment, resistance and the promotion of women’s rights.
SUNDAY, MAY 5 ~~~~~~~
10h: Expression activities of the movement for children by PUF Collective.
11h – 18h: Collective painting of the Mural.
12:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Community lunch by Zona France
14:30: Uprising Weekend – Upcycling Feminist: Textile screen printing of used clothing, led by AtelierSer and Las Piteadas; Surely you have a piece in your closet to which you want to give a new life!
14h30 – 18:00: “Sewing and Embroidery Wheel”, led by Paula Geleia and Luciana Gâmbaro: All seamstresses, embroiderers, and those interested in learning are invited to join this wheel and build a collective piece of good energy to stay in the square as a symbol of the union of the people who make up the neighborhood.
