to Nov 1 | PAINTING EXHIBIT (+CONCERT) | David Simões: Images | FREE-6€

October 28 - November 1

FREE

David Simões is a painter who was born in, lives, and paints in Setúbal. Well-hidden, low-key art gallery and cultural space Prisma Estúdio, hosts of David’s new solo show in Lisbon, titled simply Imagems, say this:
“His work explores both landscape and the human figure, and combines representation with expressive abstraction; his themes are eclectic, using photography as a source of inspiration, he materializes his work in support, mostly on canvases using various mediums.

In his painting, David explores, in acrylic, philosophical and metaphysical terms, the expression of his restlessness. If, on the one hand, it wants to plastically transform pigments and materials into meanings, using images and symbols, on the other hand, it does not want to impose an exclusive interpretation of their combinations of shapes, planes, and colors, preferring to let everyone think and feel the paintings in a personal way.

The selection of works that he brings to Prisma shows a diversity of themes, addressed from the human figure, abstraction, and landscape.”

On Firday, Oct. 29, you can check out Imagems between a concert by K.P. Ring and DJ set by Barry Goode.

ENTRY: 6€ (with a free drink).

Saturday through Monday (Oct.30-Nov.1) you can view Imagems for free, by appointment; call or send a text to +351 968 449 728.
