to Oct 17 | MULTIMEDIA EXHIBIT | Ars Fatum: Masks that Talk | 3€
September 15 @ 10:00 - October 17 @ 18:00€3
Masks. They’re big now. And some of them have more to say than others.
Here’s what Museu de Lisboa says about their latest mask exhibit, Ars Fatum (which is how you say “art of fate” in Latin):
“The exhibition ‘Ars Fatum – Masks that Talk’ presents 23 mask sculptures in decorated ceramics and 30 images. The 15 original pieces in the collection are reinterpreted through ceramics and graphic composition, to which are added the four new pieces created for the last four editions of the International Festival of Classical Theater in Mérida, Spain.
The Ars Fatum collection arises from the collaborative work between the artisan workshop Terracotta Mérida by Juanma Pérez Vinagre, and the art historian Samuel López-Lago, a partnership that culminates in a work that highlights the links between the aesthetics of handicraft and art.”
ENTRY*: 3€ (at the door, or here).
*Includes museum admission.
NOTE: The museum is open daily (10h-18h) except Mondays.
And don’t forget your mask.
