With Lisbon as a backdrop, Fado (2007) explores the dialogue between the music and the city, tracing its evolution from Afro-Brazilian origins to modern times. Director Carlos Saura highlights the performance of great musicians with an homage to the patrimonial heritage of the music.

This is the 10th anniversary of the film’s premiere. The exhibition at Museu do Fado revisits Saura’s journey through the Fado universe with storyboards, drawings, notes, paintings, scripts, and props from the film. Who knows? You might even see Mariza and Carminho there on opening night.
