If you find yourself walking around Praça Duque de Saldanha, Avenida da Liberdade, Restauradores, Rossio, and/or Cais do Sodré this September, you might stop and take another look at a random tree ogling you.
That’s not because you look weird; that’s just Outro Olhar (“Another Look”), an outdoor art installation by British artists with funky names Filthy Luke and Pedro Estrellas.
Here’s what Cultura na Rua say about it:
“Nature will come to life in Lisbon. When we’re least expecting it, a tree will look at us with smiling eyes… seemingly wanting to get our attention!
A street installation being shown for the first time in Portugal.
Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas launch themselves fearlessly into new ideas and concepts, which range from the sublime to the ridiculous, changing and questioning everyday urban spaces, inviting us to reflect on the impact that each of us has on our environment.
Over the years, this duo and their company Designs in Air have produced acclaimed works for a wide variety of shows and events around the world, such as the 2012 Paralympic Games, The Eden Project, Cirque du Soleil, and Greenpeace, amongst others.”
Keep your eyes peeled.
