The Tall Ships are returning to Lisbon after a hiatus due to Covid. An event not to be missed for fans of sailing, history, and old-timey crafts, and this time around, the ships — which are open to visitors — are docking in Alcântara rather than Expo. And there are few sights more stunning than the ships all leaving the city along the Tejo, so don’t miss the final sendoff.
P.S. Some of these ships do allow (usually paying) passengers to join them for a leg of the trip, although the spots sell out fast and there’s little to no information from the race’s various organizers (the one listed as accepting passengers, Atyla, was sold out as of the beginning of August), so you’ll have to get creative.
