Oh, the sea.
It certainly seems a lot safer than land these days…
Here’s what CCB, the organizers of O Mar É a Terra (“The Sea is Our Land”) say about this architecture exhibit:
“The Atlantic Ocean is a large and complex space that determines a large part of our lives. On land, a coastline is not a line, it is an eternal flow. This exhibition maps and presents the contradictions that exist between land and sea, from the perspective of architecture, spatial planning, and landscape construction. This subject, so sensitive and relevant to society, has been the subject of attention from a group of architects who have challenged the conventional limits of the discipline. Starting from the physical contradictions and popular culture of Figueira da Foz beach, the exhibition covers a set of experiences of thinking, drawing, and configuring the coastline and its relationship with the dense immensity of the ocean.”

The organizers add:
“We want to improve the experience of those who visit us and visitors can now go through the exhibition accompanied by an audio guide accessible by mobile phone (we recommend that you bring headphones).
For the youngest, we designed an «actividário», a set of challenges and puzzles that lead to discovering the secrets hidden on the coastline.”
