Traz outro amigo também (“Bring another friend too”) is an album by Portuguese legend José (aka Zeca) Afonso. It was recorded in London 52 years ago, and took the musician in a whole new direction.

‘Traz outro amigo’ (just “Bring another friend”) is a tribute, and here’s how organizers Sirigaita describe it:
“Diogo Galvão (guitar and voice) and Davide Stefani (trumpet) create new textures for 16 songs by José Afonso. They change the clothes of Zeca’s music and poetry, reinvent his singing, and take all his freedom.

What better tribute can be paid to him? Diogo Galvão discovered a decade ago that he wanted to sing around spreading friendship and poetry. Davide Stefani went around the world discovering what a trumpet can do, and made another friend too.”
