In the before time, every year since 2009, FUSO was Lisbon’s only open-air video art festival. For six nights out of the year, it would invite both locals and visitors to the city’s beautiful gardens, museums, cloisters, etc., to view the latest visuals by both up-and-coming and semi-established artists in the realm of film and video art.
However, for their 2020 edition, FUSO, like many other festivals, has had to take things indoors, due to you know what. The festival is in no way canceled, and if you have a screen and some internet, you can still see what’s been happening in the world of Lisbon film and video art in the time of corona, free of charge and on your own time.
The theme this year is “Diversity Adversity,” and here’s what FUSO says about how to watch (and vote):
“This year, via our online broadcast live from the Fundação EDP and the Puppet Museum, you can see the works selected in our open call and the curatorial project. The works competing in the open call will stay online for the first three days of FUSO for the public vote. Voting closes on 29 August, after that day’s session.
The videos for each curatorial project will remain online for 24 hours after the conversations.
The work of the guest artist Hugo Canoilas will stay on the site during the four days of programming.
At the end of the festival, the complete program will stay online for a week.”
