Flamingo Bar – RIP

A dingy hole-in-the-wall with good people and cheap tequila shots

Colorful characters hang out in front of this tasca adorned with a painted pink flamingo late into the night. The staff is friendly and welcoming while the inside boasts a minimalist take on comfy decor. Somehow, it feels like a ghost of the legendary but now defunct Anos 60 Bar on the same corner (soon to be a hotel, most likely) but this space is truly all its own. It’s a breath of fresh air from the madness that pink street often becomes, and a mere five-minute walk from Martim Moniz. If you’re in it for the music, fear not. The bar plays a good soundtrack too.
