Did you know that If you’re a foreigner living in Lisbon you may be able to vote in the upcoming city elections. 

Local magazine Mensagem put together a how to guide to help you understand whether you’re eligible to register and what steps to take to get that much coveted ‘registered voter’ title. 

Just be warned you must register 60 days before election date. We’re still waiting for the Prime Minister, António Costa, to set the date, but do know that it is stipulated by law that elections should take place between Sept 22 and Oct 14. 

So don’t procrastinate and get your registration in before the end of July.
