The best overall selection of alcohol in the city, although they tend to go with fads, so currently the gin display takes up the majority of the store. There’s an excellent rum and whiskey selection (try the Appleton’s Jamaican rum and the Glenfarclas scotch if you’re in the mood for something particularly habit-forming), a staff who’s knowledgeable about Portugal’s wines though it may take half the day to get their attention, ports and spirits that span the history of time, and surprisingly fair prices. This is one of the few places that carries imported lesser-known liquors like pisco and pure-agave tequila to boot. Check out the outpost in Ribeira market while you do your veggie and fish shopping for the week, though it’s a much smaller selection.
