Heim Cafe

A comfortable cafe you can work in and not get the stink eye

Rua Santos-o-Velho, 2 e 4
+351 212 480 763, website
Mon, 9h – 19h; Wed – Sun, 9h – 19h

The very welcoming owners Hanna & Misha run a tight ship in this formerly-cursed corner spot on the border between Santos and Madragoa. Their success where others have failed is their modern interior, friendly staff, light and delicious food, good taste in music, and the top-notch maintenance of the space. Now with outdoor sidewalk seating, more and more of the neighborhood’s freelancer crowd is clamoring for a spot to sip their coffee, munch on a snack, and get some work done. The secret is out on this place, and for good reason. The avocado toast with a fried egg is particularly yummy, as is the smoked salmon salad, but the real draw is the Sunday brunch, with various combination options and reportedly, good cocktails, though bloody marys are not on the menu…yet.
